Casting Crowns--Concerts to Celebrate!

Northern Virginia’s George Mason University has hosted the Christian music group Casting Crowns in both December 2014 and 2016. Held in the formerly named Patriot Center, both concerts were great! Led by front singer and student pastor Mark Hall, their music offers a bedrock connection between both seekers and the body of Christ, and the God who made us all.
For those who don’t know, the entire Casting Crowns group is made up of youth ministry workers—who actually prioritize the youth they work with. I am always amazed at their on-going dedication to those young people, despite their phenomenal success in the music industry. Others might have slacked off and enjoyed the proceeds from their music sales. But because of their real-life testimonies, I find their music an inspiration on so many levels.
I’ve read a couple of Mark’s books. I wholeheartedly recommend them both to youth and parents. The first is Lifestories: Finding God’s “Voice of Truth” Through Everyday Life. This one gives the back story on songs from two of their bestselling albums. The second is The Very Next Thing: Follow God. Where You Are. Right Now. This one is a six-week devotional. I think that you will find, as I did, both comfort and challenge as you walk out your personal journey of faith.
