Kennebunkport – Summer Home of the Bush Family

I hadn’t had time to visit the small town of Kennebunkport before – it’s a bit off the beaten path of the interstate I had zipped by on before. But this trip afforded the perfect opportunity. Sometimes it’s just nice to be able to actually see a place you’ve read about in the news, and this was the case for me.

Walker’s Point is Presidents George Herbert Walker Bush’s and George W. Bush’s family compound. You can’t actually visit the property, but the many tourists snap photos from a little wind-y road across the way.

Whether or not someone is a political fan of the Bush family, people across the country and beyond admire the family ties and friendships that were a significant part of this home and family. It was a pleasant side trip and certainly a significant part of America's recent history.
