Eating the Elephant

As a follow up to our last post, how is your goal setting coming along? Are you successfully developing and using specific micro habits? Most importantly, are you making the forward progress we discussed? Always keep in mind that success isn't necessarily grand accomplishment right out of the starting gate, so to speak.
Remember the concept in our Open Doors text of "eating the elephant a bite at a time." That is, of course, the idea here. The elephant is too big to be consumed in one effort. Instead, mastering the smaller components help you develop habitual mastery. The all-important guideline is: don't quit!
Discussion Topic: Talk with your family about this particular project. Ask for feedback as to where you started compared to where you are in the process of reaching your goal. Such discussions were typical dinner table topics when my girls were growing up, as is the case for many homeschoolers. The rest of the family may really enjoy giving you suggestions or perspective as you move through the process. If so, that will be a huge benefit to you!
