COVID-19 and 9/11

As you know, we've taken a break throughout the COVID crisis. So much has changed in our country - unprecedented lockdowns, upheaval in our political landscape, and an environment that looks very little like the America we knew six months ago.
The COVID parallels with September 11, 2001 are hard to miss: an unexpected enemy attacking the homeland, hatred of the American way of life, and a desire to crush the American spirit at any cost. Like many of you, I have looked around for the things that endure - friends and family that matter, home, and a faith in Jesus Christ that is rock solid regardless of the damages that humans can do to each other. I know from long personal history, He is a solid footing beyond the temporary.
So, throughout this time, I have been praying for our country, our leaders, and the families across America - that we emerge with a stronger sense of the way of life we value and must protect. Our freedom was purchased with such huge human cost. That is evident at places we hallow such as Arlington, Gettysburg and Valley Forge. No stripping of monuments erase such facts. It is now up to us to preserve it, or we could lose it forever. It is our choice. I hope we make the right one.
