ACB: The Newest Supreme Court Justice

Amy Coney Barrett was sworn in as the latest SCOTUS Justice - the 103rd.Her swearing in took place at an evening White House ceremony hosted by President Trump. Barrett had requested that Justice Clarence Thomas administer the first of two oaths of office, which he did. Justice John Roberts administered the judicial oath the following day.

At 48 years of age, Barrett has been a stellar legal mind. She is, by all reports, a stellar person, educator and mother to both her five birth children and their two adopted Haitian siblings. Her husband Jesse is a former federal prosecutor, and she herself is the eldest of seven children.

This now returns the number of Court justices to nine, with Barrett replacing the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Amy Coney Barrett is the fifth woman to serve on the United States Supreme Court.
